Practical answers for buyers of reusable wooden crate hardware. This FAQ covers ORIENS crate clip selection, panel compatibility, installation, removal, reuse, surface finishes and export packing. Start with the joint design and operating conditions, then confirm the clip model and finish.

We supply metal hardware, including crate clips, hinges and related fittings. We can help introduce suppliers or source supporting items such as wooden crates and packaging bags when required. Complete crates and bags are not included in a standard crate clip quotation.
C057 is suitable for the confirmed 13 mm wooden crate panel application, while C058 is suitable for the confirmed 8 mm application. Panel thickness alone does not define the complete joint: send the edge profile or assembly drawing for a fit check before a bulk order.

The drawing profile dimensions identify features on the model drawings. They are not overall length × width × height measurements and are not panel thicknesses.
The confirmed material specification for C057 and C058 is Chinese Grade 50 carbon steel, heat-treated to 42–46 HRC. Buyers searching for spring steel crate clips should use this specific material and hardness in the purchase specification. Specifications for other clip designs must be confirmed separately.
Yes. The confirmed clip system is designed for hand installation on the matching wooden crate joint. Align the panels, position the clip at the intended fastening point and press it into engagement. Check the approved sample and assembly arrangement before production use. Do not force a clip onto an incompatible joint.
Use a suitable pry bar. Engage the bar in the clip's release slot and use controlled leverage to release the clip. Installation is by hand; removal requires the pry bar. Therefore, "tool-free assembly" describes installation, not the entire assembly-and-removal cycle. Keep hands clear of the release path and avoid bending the clip beyond its intended movement.
Under the condition that the clip remains undamaged, our crate clips can support more than 1,000 assembly and removal cycles. This is a conditional reuse statement, not an unconditional service-life guarantee or a published fatigue-test result for every model. Inspect clips before reuse and replace any with deformation, cracks, serious corrosion or loss of secure engagement. Confirm the selected model and operating conditions for your returnable packaging project.
As a starting layout reference, a wooden crate approximately 1 m in size generally uses two clips along each joining edge that requires fastening. Larger crates may need three to four clips per such edge. This is not a fixed total for the whole crate or a load rating. The final arrangement depends on crate dimensions, joint layout, panel construction, packed load and handling conditions.
There is no single confirmed spacing in millimetres that applies to every crate. Share the edge lengths, fastening layout and load requirements so the positions can be reviewed. Validate the complete packaging design for the intended handling and transport conditions before bulk use.
The range includes zinc-plated clips, black electrophoretic-coated clips and colored powder-coated options. The collage shows a selection of actual product appearances, including blue, light-colored, black and metallic finishes. Color alone does not identify the coating process. Confirm the required model, coating process and color with the quotation; not every pictured finish is automatically available for every design.
The confirmed requirements are zinc plating of at least 5 μm and electrophoretic coating of at least 25 μm. These figures are coating thicknesses, not salt-spray test hours. Powder-coating thickness and the finish specification for other clip designs should be agreed separately.
A fixed number of rust-free days at sea cannot be established from coating thickness alone. Confirm the complete finish system and the expected shipping and storage conditions with the order. Salt exposure, condensation, surface damage and packaging conditions affect the application. No specific marine service-life guarantee is stated in this FAQ.
A verified hour rating must come from a test report for the relevant product and finish. We do not assign an unverified salt-spray duration to the 5 μm zinc or 25 μm e-coat specifications. When requesting testing, define the method, exposure duration, specimen condition and acceptance criteria, including whether white corrosion or red rust is being assessed.
ISO 9227 describes salt-spray test methods; it does not prescribe one exposure duration for every product, and its results should not be converted into a prediction of long-term outdoor or marine life. Request the applicable report and agreed criteria for your order.
Yes. The confirmed double-wire design measures 116 × 89 mm with 4 mm wire diameter. It is a different construction from the stamped C057 and C058 clips. Confirm its joint compatibility, material, finish and packing separately rather than applying the stamped-clip specifications to it.
The minimum order quantity is 500 pieces. C057 and C058 samples are in stock, and the normal production lead time is 20–35 days, subject to order confirmation. The combined Crate Clip product line has a stated production capacity of 40,000 pieces per day; this is the total for the line, not a separate capacity for each model.

*C057's separate net/gross breakdown has not been specified. Unit weights are reference values; use confirmed carton weights for freight planning. These figures exclude additional pallets or outer export packaging and should not be assumed for powder-coated or double-wire designs.
Please provide the clip model or a clear photo/drawing, panel thickness, joint profile, crate dimensions, packed load, required finish and color, order quantity, delivery destination and any corrosion-test requirement. If replacing an existing clip, include photos of both the clip and its installed position.
